Sayner Barnstormers 12/15/08
« on: December 15, 2008, 08:04:32 AM »
We received about 4 inches of heavy wet great packing snow this past Sunday (12/14/08)  :jump:. We got about another 3 inches of dry stuff that night. During the day we did get rain, but don't let that scare you. What snow we did have on the trails prior to yesterday was loose and dry. The rain was the best thing for it.

Early season conditions exist. Some sections are good, some rough, and some downright dangerous. The rough and dangerous sections are due to the trail bed having severe ruts from 4X4 trucks. Areas that were heavily rutted, will have very little snow base at first, because we had to use the snow to fill the ruts. Please be especially careful on trail 11 from Hwy 70 to "4 corners" by Arbor Vitae and then trail 51 from "4 corners" and north.

The lakes are freezing nicely, but as usual, it is NOT recommended to cross unless they are marked.
