Its quite different from my old FAA job - I'm no longer the go to guy and decision maker.  Less stress, more humor in listening to people tell you what their car is doing.  I just gotta try to kep it to part time. its easy to feel like you should be there when that was the expectation for the last 30 years.  BTW doesnt hurt that it pays more than I expected and my drive is 5 minutes versus 1hr and 15 minutes prior.  and  I get these really great no nonsense prices for vehicles.

I'll be calling you for friends and family pricing !

BTW, if it doesn't snow this season, It's totally my fault....  :ninja:

You bought a new sled?

Yes sir ! Pick it up in three weeks

Congrats! SkeDu, I'm guessing?   Hopefully mine will be in by mid November so I can get it setup for a hoped for mid December Vilas trail opening.

Thank you!, but I went outside of the box. You would approve (I assume).....

Noticed a few trees turning in the higher gravel (drier) country this week in NW Wis. (I'm about 20 miles east of Duluth MN and 6-8 miles south inland of Lake Superior).
We've had a wet early summer here, heavy rainfall, flash flooding to the south and east of here. US Hwy 2 is still closed for bridge repair west of Ashland. Our club lucked out with not too much damage from flash flooding. Only went over our grade in three places in a small area.
Southern part of our county around Solon Springs was hit pretty hard along with Eastern Bayfield and Ashland County's section of Trail 2  (Tri County Corridor).

Now, wet as it was earlier we haven't had much rain lately, thus some of the trees turning a little early.

Now we're out mowing and grading our Summer ATV railroad grades.

I just drove through this area, for the first time a few days ago ! Very nice along Lake Superior ! I was surprised how nice and how big those towns were as well !
Took my oldest son to a few college visits at UW and UMN area.... Drove through hwy 2 all the way back to the UP of MI and spent a few days at the cabin. Nice road trip !
Which colleges did you visit in Minnesota? Guessing, since you took US2, Duluth was one of them?

Yes, Duluth is on his list of schools. REALLY nice campus and set up. He really liked it. I'm a little freaked out with the size of the city, but he seemed to not mind that....
UW - Superior was much too small of a campus for his liking. He's crossed that one off the list entirely, unfortunately that school was the most economical one  :'(

I've run across a dealer or two like that.
Zirt nails is though. "It will be a little while before we can accommodate you".

Hoping the price goes down in the fall
I've been looking around for the same sled at a different dealer, but the backcountry model is difficult to find (left back savings).

Buy getting a 2018 model, I stand to save 20% - so that's my justification.....
Now I can spend $2,500 on new apparel  :punk:

I think I have it narrowed down to a 2018 Ski Doo Renegade 600 Backcountry. It's a good compromise for the kind of riding I do and it has almost all the features I want in a sled. The internet price is around $2,600 off, as it's a left back model, so I assumed they'd just uncrate it, prep it and sell it. However they made it clear that at a certain date, they stop dealing with the sleds and they focus on their summer stuff. I just felt that to be really odd.

It's hard to sell sleds in the winter, how many people call you in the spring or early summer ? Only dumb asses like me.... LOL.....

This is odd. I actually called a dealer to make a deal on a left back 2018 model machine, and they actually told me "No" call us back in October / November......

They are a big boat / wave runner dealer and they just shut down the sled stuff - once the season ends.

I still thought that to be really odd. You'd think they'd bend over backwards to sell a sled in May / June ????

Sleds turning out nice AJ !

I need to start restoring my 06 REV. This year I noticed the track was starting to chunk out. I guess I'm not surprised, seeing that I have 9,900 miles on the machine

Got my new iron picked out, just need some balls to pull the trigger on it.
Have you seen the light, and coming to Polaris or sticking with DooDoo
I don't want to hyjack AJ's restoration thread - you just gotta keep on the cliffhanger. It might take a while for me to grow those balls, as my real estate tax bill just arrived yesterday  :'(
